About Sean Meyers Photography
Since earning his photojournalism degree in 1991 from the University of Florida's School of Journalism, Sean has worked for daily newspapers from Florida to Ohio to Missouri. He currently resides in central North Carolina where he continues to expand the freelance photography business he started in Texas in 1998. He has also instructed digital photography and photojournalism courses at Texas Tech University and Catawba College.
His photographic knowledge and work includes digital and traditional film, multimedia, virtual reality, and digital video.
His work has won numerous local, regional and international awards and has been honored by prestigious national organizations such as:
- The National Press Photographers Association
- The Associated Press
- The Wedding Photojournalism Association
- The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar
Sean also received a 2009 North Carolina Regional Artist Grant, and his work has been exhibited at several regional art centers, including Waterworks Visual Art Center, Green Goat Gallery and The Bascom.
His work continues to appear in Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, People, Newsweek, Elle, Bride Magazine, and numerous other regional, national, and international affiliations.
Sean lives with his theatre professor wife Elizabeth, their daughter Emmaline, their dogs Stanley and Pearl and Pluto and Stubbs the cats. They are both avid preservationists, dog lovers (and cat), and cyclists.
